Simulate sensor focal cut-off, test physical CD thickness thresholds, and eliminate cursor drag during rapid mouse resets.

At 0.8mm LOD, the sensor stops reading the moment your mouse lifts off the pad. When you lift to swipe a 180ยฐ flick in CS2 or Valorant, your crosshair will remain completely stationary with zero accidental mouse drag.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Mouse Lift-Off Distance (LOD) and why does it matter?
Lift-Off Distance (LOD) is the vertical height above the mousepad at which your optical sensor stops tracking. For low-sensitivity esports players who constantly lift and reset their mouse to the center of the pad during 180ยฐ turns, a high LOD (>2mm) causes the crosshair to violently jitter or drag downwards in mid-air, throwing off crosshair placement.
What is the 'CD Test' for measuring mouse LOD?
A standard compact disc (CD or DVD) has an exact standardized thickness of 1.2mm. By placing 1 CD under the front and back mouse skates and sliding your mouse across the pad, if the cursor still tracks, your LOD is >1.2mm. If it stops tracking on 1 CD, your LOD is <1.2mm (competitive esports tier).
Should I set my mouse software LOD to Low (1mm) or High (2mm)?
Always set it to 'Low' (1.0mm or lower) for competitive tactical FPS. The only exception is if you use an extremely textured hybrid pad (like Artisan Hien) or worn cloth pad with deep fibers where a 1mm LOD causes sensor skipping ('spin-out'). In that case, 2mm provides tracking stability.
